Kings, Prophets, Priests

Priests, prophets, kings in the kingdom of God

Rev 5:9,10 is provided by Jesus Christ on His cross (Is 61:6; Mt 5:5; Jn 3:3)!  Will you take it?

“Believe” is to trust God’s Word [Jesus Christ], and follow Him (1 Jn 2:4; Jn 14:1; 16:9), not to just intellectually take cognizance of [accept] historical facts about Jesus, Satan also does that (Js 2:14-26). Manifestation of God’s power is one sign that you have a genuine relationship with Him.

Shocking news for the religious:  “unbelief” also means to follow Moses and the law as opposed to what [Who] is noted in Rom 8:14!!!  This is based on self-righteousness that thinks self knowledge between good and bad, blessing and calamity can produce an obedience through which you can be saved – this is a lie, a trap Eve and Adam fell for – 2 Cor 11:3; 1 Jn 3:8; Gen 3:1. We are only saved by the grace and Love of God and this was the obedience of Jesus Christ!!! This, however, is perhaps outside the scope for this discussion on God’s kingdom and our intended rulership, sonship and authority Jesus paid for.  Please refer to the discussion entitled “The bottom line” and “Mixing Old and New” for further reading on this subject; in the meanwhile ponder 2 Cor 3; Gal 3-5.

The idea of being a prophet, priest and king, is applicable first to the head of each household, as the husband and father as a prophetic image of Jesus Christ as the Head of His Church (1 Cor 11:3), His Bride the city in whom He dwells (Rev 21:2,9; Is 60:14; Mt 5:14); but then also to each and every believer [follower] of Jesus Christ as our eternal High Priest (Heb 2:17; 3:1; 4:14; 5:6,10; 6:20; 7:17,21,26; 8:1).  Since we are all supposed to be seated with Christ (Eph 2:6,19), we can assume to take our place of authority in His name/authority (Eph 4:12-16; John 1:12-13; 14:9-15; Rom 8:19-23), and yes, here on earth in this Life – Rom 5:17; Col 1:13; etc!  We should seek His kingdom first (Mt 6:33).  His kingdom is on earth, in and around us (Lk 12:32; 17:21), and has a structure (Eph 2:19-22; Col 2:9; 1 Cor 6:15-20; 2 Cor 6:16; 1Pet 2:6-10; and so on).  It is a family where we have the same Father, Son (Brother – Acts 3:22; Heb 2:11 – as our Savior-Lord), and Holy Spirit (same Counselor, Wisdom, Power, Guide in all of us who follow Christ… permanently in us…); then we [can] have brothers, sisters, children with guidelines (such as Eph 6:1-4; 1 Cor 7; 1 Tim 3:5 and many more).

The role we as fathers accept [assume] in our own households, are as spiritual leaders, and then at least in the following three roles [place, capacity].  Observe, however, the change to a better “system” of the NT (Heb 8:13; 9:8-28!)!  The Old way is not applicable to a [NT] Christian!  In the meditation “Mixing Old and New”, the author expands on this crucial great Truth.

  1. The priest intercedes and dedicate to God his [His!] family as a spiritual leader but cannot do the Old Covenant type intercession that Jesus Christ is doing in the NT right now (Rom 8:26,27,34; Heb 7:25; 10:10-17; 1 Jn 2:1-2).  Refer here to the meditation “Intercession” (1 Tim 2:5). God instated a marriage (Gen 2:21-25; Mal 2:14-16; Mt 19:5, and so on). At least thank God for your family.  This reveals an element of response+ability, and submission and willingness to Father-God to lead by means of your example [thought-life].  Note Acts 10:34-36.  All true Christians have Christ as their Head, not merely any one man or a “management” (Heb 4:16).
  1. Take special note of Heb 1:1-2 and read the paragraph on this subject in the meditation by this author entitled “Church part 1”.  The office of prophet for certain men only has ceased with Jesus Christ.  Eph 4:11 is about the foundation build.  That has been done!  Jesus Christ is that Foundation (Jn 17:24-26; 1 Cor 3:11; Heb 11:10). God is now building His house on it with walls in which we are all living stones (1 Pet 2:5) while He is the Most important stone – not [only] certain men in self-appointed positions in their “church” structures (Eph 2:20 with Eph 11:12-16 and 2 Tim 2:19).  We today can have teachers, yes, but do you know the real NT Teacher (Jn 14:26!)?  Take care to not fall for the “denominational church” hoax and steps of comparison and “higher” and “lower” members in His Body [Christianity] – Gal 5:18-20; Eph 4:4-5; 1 Tim 2:5; Acts 10:34-35; even 2 Tim 4:3-5!

The OT prophets [fore-tellers of the arrival and purpose of Jesus Christ] and the apostles [eye-witnesses of Jesus’ resurrection, Acts 1:20-22] helped to point to Jesus Christ.  What had to happen for Old Covenant people [prior and right up to the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ] has happened for us!  John the Baptist was still in the Old Covenant (Heb 9:16-18)!

Can you take time here to very carefully contemplate the following for probably the biggest revelation you can get?  Apply Js 1:5 and then carefully look at the gift of prophecy (to say what God says) that is part of every believer who has Christ dwelling permanently in him as part of a NT kingdom.  Please be careful to too hastily claim to fully understand! Very carefully [prayerfully] read a golden thread woven through Lk 6:46-49; 11:50-52; 14:29-30; 17:24; Rom 15:20-21; 1 Cor 3:10-23; Eph 2:20 and 1 Tim 6:19-21; 2:7-10.  The point here is that we should take responsibility, and admit and destroy (Eph 2:1-10; Col 3:3-8), our own self-righteousness and stop killing the messenger that points this out to us (ignoring Acts 7:51-53; Rom 3:28; Phil 3:9). If you have studied the meditation “The Testimony”, you should tremble with excitement with the enormity of what Jesus Christ is actually all about – everlasting LIFE!!!…  (1 Cor 4:20)!!! O yes, of course you fully [unconditionally, literally] believe Jesus Christ (Mk 10:27; Lk 18:27; Jn 11:26)…

A prophet is an inspired preacher and expounder.  When we heed Is 60:14 and Jesus Christ in Mt 5:14 and Mt 28:18-20, we all will accept Him as our Head (Eph 1:17-23; 2:18-22) and heed 1 Jn 2:4. We are all permanently appointed by Jesus Christ (Eph 4:11-17) in His Body (the Church); and so there is that same Spirit in all of us as children of God (Jn 1:12; 4:24; 1 Cor 12:11; Eph 3:10-21).  The father in the house must surely be able to preach and expound the gospel of Jesus Christ (not only about-…) to his family.  At least lead in Bible study and be able to introduce people to Jesus Christ the Person due to his own genuine relationship…

  1. King. A king rules, protects, provides. Jesus is forever the King of kings (1 Tim 6:15).  Who are these kings? Rom 5:17 (“in life…”); 8:17; Gal 4:7 is connected to the authority we receive as heirs in Rom 8:17; Gal 4:1-7; Eph 2:6,19; 3:6 and so co-rulers as expressed in Col 2:10; 1 Tim 3:5; Rom 8:17, to name a few.  If we are to mature and be like Christ Jesus (Eph 1:22,23; 4:12-15; Heb 12:1-2), is it not time to connect the dots and for fathers to accept kingdom responsibility in our prophetic role?  Rev 5:9,10; Mt 5:10; Is 61:6; Heb 10:24-25; Col 3:16,17.

Another possibility [implication] might be that, if we fail to seek the kingdom first (Mt 6:33), that we will not automatically get what God know we need…  The same principle that is reflected in neglect: it is refusing through lack of interest [trust, love].  This slackness is a main contributor to our ignorance. Eph 4:13,14; Eph 1; Col 2:9-10!  The meditation called “The Will” by the author might also be of some value here to better grasp the sovereignty of God.

Jesus will return when His Word of eternal Life and peace (grace and mercy) has been taken to all nations [peoples] of this earth, that is to say, when they are disciples [followers] of Jesus Christ (not just proselytes, Mt 23:15), but manifested mature sons [children] of God Almighty (Rom 8:11,19-24; Jn 11:26; 2 Tim 1:10; Jn 3:16), being able to show forth the signs, miracles and power – and Life [not mere after-life] – of their heavenly Creator-Father!  Not followers of man-made dogma robbing children of God of their inherited power to rule on earth (ie. all the thoughts in our own minds, not witchcraft and fear-based dictatorships – Jn 10)!  Children of God Almighty have to be exactly that first, and then Jesus can return in His glory.  His glory reflected in all who is filled by Him that is filling all the earth – through all those He indwells permanently!  Think about it, and discard the trash teachings of robbers and thieves preaching doom and gloom and a fearful and powerless church that has to be taken away or manipulates people through shrewd and erroneous teachings that make them look good because you think you have to go to God through them (Jn 14:6; 1 Tim 2:5)!  What did Jesus pray in Jn 17:15-20?  Read the discussion entitled “Rapture raptured” if you still believe that nonsense.

Take special note of Heb 4:1-2!  Be afraid to distrust the Word of God – Jesus Christ!

Go in peace (Is 9:6-7).
